Words with didnity - describing people with disabilities
The following web site terms are suggested to describe persons with a disability:

A must read for persons involved in web sites or print development. Or even everybody else?

Once you are, have a look what the usability specialist Jakob Nielsen says about:

Treating Users with Disabilities as People:
For an office in the US Department of Labor, we assembled a site of resources for serving people with disabilities, http://www.onestoptoolkit.org/

On a lark, we ran the home page through babelfish.altavista.com to translate from English to Japanese, and then ran the result through again to translate it back to English. The result transformed "individuals with disabilities" as "the individual of failure."

Not politically correct at all.

The individual, the supporter, the parent, the counselor and the other specialist of failure should find abundant source of information here.
