I would suggest contacting WPW direct as they may be able to run it as a competition of some sort which may give you options. Alternatively perhaps it could be run as an example design forum where by every stage could be documented and then published on here to show new designers (and old) how to go about a site design from stage 1 through to completion.

I don't know about Nigerian tax laws, but if like US then you might be able to find a local designer that needs a tax write off.

Actually, that sounds like a great idea Julian (the work project idea). I see on their site that they are interested in the educational side of IT, maybe this could be a good opportunity for us to share some skills with a worthwhile project.

Richard, what programs are you using at present in regards to designing sites? If any? Would any of your teens be interested in participting in a workshop to learn site design? I think it would be much nicer for them to design their own site! Give them a sense of owning it too.

I'll help with anything they need help with. If they have a lack of programs to do it with, I'm sure that with a little hunting, there must be some members here that can help with that side of it. I have a couple of programs I dont use anymore.

Count me in. I would be glad to help in creating a complete start to finish tutorial on building a non-profit website. We could put together a complete design and development proposal, with site map and everything. Show the newbie’s how to go from consultation to released site.

Maybe even throw in some marketing assistance. What do you say?

I think its a cool idea Scott. I have read people asking about this before, and its been mentioned from time to time, and nothing got done. This sounds like a pretty good project to do it on hey!

Actually sounds like a good avenue also to try all those neat bits of code that members provide at times. Mik...you could have a field day with this one! :-)

Will wait for Richard to reply & see what he thinks.
