Is Matt Gone?

It’s been over a month now since he posted in his blog (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/).

He talks about being on vacation there, but the post is entitled “VACATING (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/vacating)”

Does that imply a permanent vacation?

It is tough being an Ambassador.

Are they just “retrenched” at the Googleplex, or is it as his post indicates – GONE?

Maybe everyone should pay closer attention to the book examples and characters mentioned in that post.

I don't know - but posting in his blog is a virtually guaranteed Google IBL lol

I'm glad you asked that question greeneagle. I'm ashamed to say I only came across his blog yesterday and thought I was missing something. Well, I guess I have been: his entries for the last month. Damn fine read though and the Big Daddy entries in particular were enlightening.

In "American English":
"Vacating" and "Vacationing" have two separate, succinct meanings.

Matt posted this on May 13th

I’m about to take a vacation too. Starting on May 22nd, I’m taking off until June 30th.

He deserves a long vacation (6 weeks).

I didn't notice that he was going to be gone that long.

I believe that GOOGLE finds quite a bit of value in the 2 channels they have opened for direct Webmaster feedback. I couldn't imagine them being shut down.

It's not only a safety net but quite a bit of savings in R&D and Public Relations expense.

Still kind of funny that he hasn't updated his blog.

"Still kind of funny that he hasn't updated his blog."

Maybe he will reappear with a thunderous presence.

Surely he is only waiting for the "smoke, mirrors and noise" to clear while traveling in the Congo, the Outback, and the Sahara Desert.

I think blackberries even work in a large region of the Mohave Desert, don't they?

Have we grown to expect too much?

It must be exhausting to be violently pummeled all about the head on a continual basis!

LOL

Considering all the issues at Google while he has been gone (if they really let him leave) I am not sure how happy he will be to come back.

I see in the comments minstrel Said "Just cut the crap and fix the Google Big Daddy mess. To be blunt, most of the world cares more about that than your vacation or flowers for your wife."

Yeah, I second that motion.
