Affiliate Marketing 102 - another lesson please

Thanks to all who have been helping me along. I am a newbie and going through some exciting times. Starting to sign up for Affiliate marketing programs. Not that I am planning to make a lot of money through my current site fleege.com which is highly specialized (low traffic) BUT I am learning and gearing up for 2-3 mainstream sites.

Question: So I just signed with CJ and LinkShare. Picked a few sites to promote. Sites that my audience would likely be interested in. BUT. I dont want to use buttons or their text links. I would like to just make lists of sites and if they click on them they would have my code in the background go-to url.

I want to just be able to throw in link lists here and there. Almost content like and not use so much of those mini banner buttons or affilate suggested text links - Can I do this???

I thought that I get a special url code which I can just use to build in any kind of links I want...not true?

Please help -- I hope this makes sense...?

Not sure about LinkShare, but with CJ you can pull the merchants text link and just change the words to say whatever you want. They will still track as long as you don't change anything else in the code.

Hi

On LS and SAS you can change anything that is set between the HREF tags, so you can change the text or banner as you like.
