Here' a report I've been told about which other users may find useful
Search Engine Study for Article Promotion (http://www.ideamarketers.com/searchenginestudy.cfm) from www.IdeaMarketers.com (http://www.ideamarketers.com/)
I took 30 of the most recent articles with bids for positioning (http://www.ideamarketers.com/bids/process.cfm) and looked them up on AOL, Google and MSN. I searched for them by their title. The chart below shows the results. Note that the longer an article is on IdeaMarketers, the greater its changes of coming up in a top position. Some articles appeared in the search engines, but there weren't direct links to the articles. In these cases their titles usually showed up on the IdeaMarketers home page, a channel page, category page or as a featured article rotating on another page of the site.
