I did a search this morning for the keyword "ryanforbes" which is my name without spaces, on msn.co.uk and noticed that my website came up top.

http://search.msn.co.uk/results.aspx?q=ryanforbes&FORM=MSNH&srch_type=0&cp=65001

This must indicate that MSN are putting alot of weight behind the content of sites that link in as "ryanforbes" is my username in all the forums
I post on and is not mentioned at all in my site. At first I thought this must have been because "ryanforbes" was in the anchor text somewhere but it isnt anywhere. Any views?

The same for me. I suspect this has to do with "profile" pages on the forums, and possibly the "www" links on each and every post.

Thats quite interesting, i wonder if I was to change my name to my chosen keyword it would act the same.

You might try searching some members who already do that.

Ryan, Is this the first time this has happened (so a possible anchor text weighting change in the MSN algo) or is it the first time you have done a search on "ryanforbes".

No i have tried it before and usually get a post from one of the forums where i post. I think MSN must have shifted more to the content of the site where the link is.

What's the keyword competition for ryanforbes?

Every little bit helps so a keyword rich user name may help some depending on the competition.
