I have been trying to optimize this page for the keyword "discount hotels"

I was hoping I might get some other opinions on this as I think I am at a stand still. I could use some suggestions and also any pointers on where there are mistakes. I know there are some. Please be brutally honest. I intend to take these responses to my boss so I can make further changes. :)

You may want to add some alt tags to your images. Search engines are incapable of reading images themselves, so text identifiers help.

On a daily average, 865,094 searches were made for "discount hotel". 8,380,000 pages exist for that term. You may want to try going after other words RELATING to discount hotel. Some suggestions: discount hotel room, discount hotel rate, discount hotel price, etc. You have way higher chances of getting ranked under those terms.
