inet marketing aside, the best "marketing book ever written is called "the 22 immutable laws of marketing" by Al Ries and Jack Trout.
Short, easy to read and facinating.
Whatever you thought you new about marketing, this is the one.......ps this is not spam or something i am trying to sell.....just a great book!

That book is excellent! It's responsible for all my gains this year! And it's not a drag to use, again and again:):):):) I didn't know it was available on lulu? It was so hard to find before.

Thanks man!

Any clue whether I can get this book in Canada? By what I read on here - I want to get my hands on it.

I can tell you which book is a waste of time: "101 ways to promote your web site" by "Susan Sweeney". It's written in a condescending fashion, very repetitive, etc. I always wonder about author who tell you "exactly how to do it" to make your millions, when they themselves aren't millionaires. I much prefer to fin good books from authors who have "done it".

Any book from Al Ries & Jack Trout should do the job.

But I have to agree with iire65 “The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing” is indeed the best marketing book ever written, by far. And trust me, I’ve read hundreds of books, included all the ones mentioned here in this thread.

If you really want to learn the fundamentals of marketing learn from Al Ries & Jack Trout. You might want to start from the beginning so go ahead and read: Positioning.

Once you have this knowledge you’ll find online marketing much easier and you’ll earn much more money.

Hope it helps

You could do worse than connecting with Bryan Eisenberg -- see http://www.grokdotcom.com/
He's an undoubted expert in the marketing business, with special reference to the web.
There's also Michael Katz, who's a widely recognized guru in the e-newsletter field -- see http://www.bluepenguindevelopment.com/index.html
Both of these guys have, to my mind (and I'm sure I'm not alone in the opinion), an unparallelled understanding of what's involved in "selling anything to anyone."
They also have an infectious sense of humour -- Michael Katz in particular.
