How fast is Ask?
I made a change to a site title that has first page listing for a competitive keyword on google, msn, yahoo, and ask
The days to update are as follows
MSN = 2 days
Google = 4 days
Yahoo =2 weeks
Ask = no update yet (3 weeks)

Ask is indeed slower than the others to update. But they seem to care even less about on-page since their Hubs and Authorities concept (from purchased Teoma) seems to weed out a lot of spam with little effort.
On-page is well down the list when you really look at their algo, so why would they need to update very quickly?
Brian.

Does anyone here know the most current "user agent" info that would show up in a server log for the ASK.com search bot?
Thanks

In our logs, we're seeing it as the following:
Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; Ask Jeeves/Teoma; +http://sp.ask.com/docs/about/tech_crawling.html)

Ask has never updated my site. I made huge changes to it over seven months ago, changing it from a personal to a business site. It's never picked up any of those changes. The site is optimized for search engines. It has a robots.txt file and a sitemap. It's been picked up by all the other major search engines and has lots of links to it. Even a search for the name of my business doesn't get a result in ask. What gives?

Ask is just slow to update. You are now #1 in Ask for "tigerflag". Congratulations!
