RSS Syndication and Articles Question

I've been working on a project for a client (which I'll post here for review in the next couple of days) that required me to learn how to create an RSS feed reader in ASP.

In doing so, a question came to mind.

As many of you know by now, I use articles as one of the ways to promote sites. And, like most people who do so, I submit them by hand over and over and over and over again.

But then the thought occurred to me: what if I could create an RSS feed and syndicate the articles to sites that could accept the feed? After all, a lot of article sites syndicate the articles to other publishers/etc. themselves, so it would stand to reason that someone would be picking up the RSS feed, right?

But then I realized: there aren't any sites that I know of that accept article syndication by individual authors.

Or...are there? And if so, who/where are they?

Does that depend on (quality) content? I do on my own sites if the content is good enough. I think your sites are good and I linked to your new site on DigitalLogistikk (http://www.digitallogistikk.no/)

So put RSS buttons on your pages / sites and webmasters import content from your pages themselves.

Thanks, kgun. That's a very good idea, and I do plan on implementing it.

The flaw in the idea has nothing to do with the idea itself, but with human behaviour. I can and will build it, but then people aren't just going to grab it because it's there. I need to tell them about it. And when I'm done telling them, I need to repeat the message so that it gets through. And when I'm finished THAT, I need to go back and beat it into their skulls.

In other words, me putting it up there and relying on others to find it will work...eventually. But it'll work a lot faster if I tell them exactly where it is. :)

And therein lies the brunt of the original question: who can I tell?

Perhaps the best way is to submit your site to "Rss directories" and "Rss portals"

1. Kw search on Google.
2. Ranked links on DinITSide (http://www.dinitside.no/) along the right edge under the heading "RSS og relaterte" (RSS and related in English). There you find top tools and you should hopefully find some directories, at last in the link collection "Lenker" at the bottom of that category. Skim through the collection.

Hi Adam,

If you have built your own feed you can use feed publisher like FeedBurner.

You can also get a bit of javascript that allows people to publish your content on their own sites.
