-=DEUCE:

I believe your question is best answered by no one, but yourself. I know, that is quite vague. I recently received a call from a couple brothers that have an off-line promotional business that were trying to feature 10 top "SouthWestern" Web Development Sites in a popular "Airline Magazine" (2.4 Million readers/month). During the interview, we tripped over one of their criteria for inclusion: 25+ new websites/year.

We succinctly replied that we are not a "Web Mill, never will be and have absolutely no interest in ever becoming one."

It is our firm belief that a web development company or SEO/SEM company cannot properly entertain a full services marketing relationship with any and every industry on the planet while providing valuable custom premium services.

We deal primarily in heavy industry and energy. I don't have much interest in taking on others, because of the extra time it would take to provide premium niche services.

Many may disagree with me here, but speaking as an Engineer that has developed nuclear tools for the Oil & Gas Industry in the past.... My little corner is more complex than that.

My best advice is to find someone that is a proven expert in your niche pocket.

We turn down well over 90% of potential customers asking for help, but we do our best to refer them to who we think may best support thier needs, in our network.

We are particularly interested in developing our network for referrals at this time. If anyone reading this post has a niche market and provides premium services for that market, we would like to hear from you, for inclusion. Only proven "niche market" quality providers will be included.

Well lets see .... how long is a piece of string??

I would guess that the first question to ask would be what is your budget? There are several well known and very competent SEOs who won't touch your site for anything this side of $20,000 and there are others less well know who might do it for half that.

But as in any business transaction one size may not fit all and you should look at a variety of factors before you decide.

I agreee with eagle for the most part, I think unless you are looking for big bucks and big names you best to find a referral from someone else in the field. I always thought anyone out and overacively talking about their success trying to get your business may be someone thats needs to do that. I am happy to say I am on a friend to a friend to a friend business model for some time now.

Goto a different region where you see someone in your field that isnt directly competing and look at high ranking sites with links in the footer of their homepage stating "design by or marketed by" then follow and see their sites.

(also I would look at the source code and see if they are considerate enough to put a rel=nofollow in their referal link to themselves)

I'd say hands down the members who are active here.

I've always liked Aaron Wall.

He used to at least hang out here. He might still - I just havnt been around SEO section much.

Some of the best I've seen would be Phil Craven, Mel and William C.

Just my two cents.

I don't see an issue there. Relevancy plays out for both parties. ;)
