Kinda new to this site and was wondering if anyone has heard.... if and when MSN is going to be launching there own version of a ppc platform like ad words or yahoo search?
Thanks

MSN has recently started their own ppc called Adcenter. It's viewable @ adcenter.msn.com, but it's currently on a beta and membership is currently invitation-only. I'm not sure why we received an invitation, but I think it might be related to our msn sbd (Small Business Directory) subscription. Btw, sbd is a very cool tool and not very expensive - you can force a respidering of your site whenever you like. Then again, with msn's bots, it might be a race to see who gets there first....
To give you an idea of the frequency of MSN's Adcenter ads, I signed up 2/8 and have received 1767 impressions and 25 clicks. For my site, this is about 1/2 a day in Google. The viewing is few and far between and the setup is a little primitive; however, for a cpc of .05 and an average position of 6 (on other se's I might pay .50-.85 to battle for positions 6-8), I'm not really complaining.

I'll have to get that sbd. Haven't had time to monkey with it. That's a nice little perk an Adcenter invitation.

The website is sbd.bcentral.com - it's nice b/c it gives you a good link in their Small Business Directory and also has tools to optimize your site (for msn, of course). It'll tell you if you have tag, page, spam, keyword, etc. issues for the keywords you have set it to analyze. It checks average page load time, too.
My only problems with sbd so far are that 1. the broken link counter isn't correct (my platform assigns a generic session id to each user/customer; it cannot recreate this and views it as a broken link) and 2. the layout is not very self-explanatory.
All things considered, it's a good resource.

Hey all, I just received a note from the MSN PPC (MSN adCenter) that I can invite 10 colleagues to join. adCenter started a month or two ago by invitation-only, and it sounds like its slightly expanding its base. If you'd like me to extend you an invitation, PM me with your email address and I will put you on the list. First 10 PMs with email addresses will get the invitation.

Well,
I actually inquired about the AdCenter and they did get back to me after 3-4 weeks of weekly inquiry. It is an invitation only, but don't think it's hard to get one. However, they do have a minimum budget you have spend monthly which is $10,000.

It might say that when you proactively inquire, but that's not accurate. I've been enrolled for almost a month and have barely spent a fraction of that. Plus, with the clicks so cheap, it would take a LOT of clicks to get up to $10,000.
Anyone else who wants an invite, PM me by the end of the day April 5th and I'll add you to the list.

We signed up for it I think about a year 1.5 ago. We had to use an outside advertising company which pooled many bids for other companies. The deal was for 1 year. We are currently in the new beta pilot
I always thought MSN was pretty ingorant about the bids. They are cheap! We spent 400-800% more on adwords. We are in the new pilot and get reports from our marketing group periodically. The average cost is around .05-.10 per keyword. Its costs more just to review the performance LOL
