Internal link question

Hi again,
All my pages in my site link back to the homepage.
Is there a difference linking back using an internal link i.e index.htm or the full web address i.e. www.mysite.com

Does it increase the amount of backlinks, does it spam the whole thing?

You should link back to your domain, not index.htm
After all that's how most websites will link to you
