With all the talk of fast and copious amounts of spidering by MSNbot I have a story of the opposite. It seems my SEO Blog www.jaankanellis.com suddenly stopped getting crawled by MSNbot around January 15th and it just showed back up a hour ago. Also when checking the site operator on MSN:

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=site%3Awww.jaankanellis.com&FORM=QBNO

It seems the website has been totally removed from the index. Could it be a "by hand" removal happening here? No idea what happened. Anybody else experiencing a disappearing act from MSN or even a lack of MSNbot visiting recently? Maybe just a temporary glitch?

All my other websites are rocking the house on MSN, even ones linked to www.JaanKanellis.com

Maybe microsoft fell over the pretty IE fix javascript function you have in your source - great name for a function but MS won't like it ;-)

I have the same issue btw - I have an older thread about it on this forum but no one so far has been able to shed light on the issue...

MSN seems to have a similar problem with us. It drops us completely for about three days every month. No ideas as to why. We rank well for many terms, then suddenly we're gone for a couple of days.

You might just let it sit for a couple days if you haven't yet to see what happens.

LOL, I totally forgot about that. Actually this function came with the theme I am using for the blog. I just renamed it. It would be interesting if MSN actually did demote or change the SERPs because of that.

Are you saying your totally removed from the index like me achronister?

I emailed MSN search support on my issue and got this response:

Hello Jaan,

Thank you for writing to MSN Search Technical Support.

My name is Hext and I understand that your site is not getting indexed. I know how important this issue is and I apologize.

There was a previous issue with the MSNBot Crawler that had issues indexing new sites. The latest fix was determined to re-index sites that were submitted to the MSN Search submit page: http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx

All previous sites that were submitted are unfortunately not getting indexed and webmasters must re-submit their site in order for the updated indexer to index your site. Please allow up to 4 weeks for your site to be indexed.

You are valuable at MSN and we look forward to meeting your service needs.

Sincerely,

Hext
MSN Search Technical Support

Anyone else get this type of response? Seems pretty cookie cutter to me, but to admit an indexing issues seems strange.
