For many months now I have been trying to convince the real estate web community that content based links provide more value for your site than traditional link exchanges. If you have been reading Google Engineer Matt Cutt's blog you know that it's easy for Google to pick up on reciprocal links, 3-way links, and paid links. My impression from reading his blog and his comments at search engine conferences is that sometime in the near future Google is going to have a major change in its algorithm that involves the value placed on links.
Lately, people on all types of forums have extolled the virtues of article submission sites. Those are a good idea, but let's face it - chances are that your real estate article will not be picked up by a bunch of sites on the internet. That's where our new site comes in to play.
In order to be pro-active in link building techniques we have developed http://www.RealEstateLinkHQ.com. It will be a resource for real estate webmasters to post, gather, and exchange real estate mini-articles with other real estate sites.
There is NO COST to join the program. In order to strengthen the value of the links to and from member sites, there is a very strict qualification process for each web site. The goal is to provide quality links from quality sites and quality content for all members. Your articles can be 100-300 words in length, and based upon the size of your article you can include 3 links (all to different pages in your site). You can also add a photo. H3 headline tags are to be used to introduce each article.
Members are also required to follow the prescribed format for setting up your article pages. We DO NOT provide any extra code or scripts - you design the article pages to match your own pages. The only requirement is that all of the links are standard HTML and you follow the prescribed hierarchal navigation structure. In a nutshell, you will have article pages for each state, and in some cases multiple pages for some states (we don't want the pages to be huge). For example, we want a maximum of 4 articles on each page. Let's say your Nevada page would have 7 links, and 4 are them are from Las Vagas sites. You would create a new Nevada page for the Las Vagas sites only, then have a general Nevada page. In theory, the page with all Las Vegas content and links would have even more relevance for both the page content AND the outbound links.
By developing pages in this manner, search engines are more likely to see these pages as relevant pages - not garbage link exchange pages. Because the pages are highly organized, it should also boost the relevance of each link on the page.
Go ahead and check out the site, and email me or send me a PM with any questions. Within the next week or so we will also be releasing a similar site dedicated to hotel, villa rental, and vacation mini-articles.
