Hi all, and happy new year!

I have been wrestling with an issue on my web site, where people who type in www. before my domain name can't find it. If they take it out it goes right to my home page. I tried adding a subdomain with www. before my domain name, but that was a stab in the dark that proved completely fruitless :(

I am using the professional promo package offered by 1and1.com for hosting.

help if you can!

Thanks,
Billy

This is no exact error description. What does that mean: "can't find it"? What error message do they get?
There are a number of possibilities.

Why not simply give an URL to observe?

it's possible that 1and1 treats each subdomain as a separate domain and you'd have to actually set up a new domain to redirect traffic.

It's simply a DNS issue, most hosting companies can help you with it.

Call your hosting service's tech support.
