I really want to see the new King Kong movie but unfortunately I suffer from a severe case of arachnophobia and I hear the new movie has lots of "creepy crawlies". If anyone has seen King Kong, please give me an idea of the "creep factor" - some bugs are OK but I just can't do SPIDERS.

Hi Marcie

Sorry I can't help. I was gonna watch it, but I too am scared of spiders so I'm not so sure. Arachnophobia had me uneasy for a few nights after I watched it, and I didn't even bother with Eight-Legged Freaks.

Theres a dead spider on the window ledge of the gym I go to. And as no one can get up there to remove it, I now steer clear of that window. When I asked about it, the gym instructor just laughed at my misfortunate >:-(

I also anticipate the result of your poll.

What if they're brightly colored, festive, happy spiders?

Hello MarcieZoob,

I saw King Kong this past Saturday. I don't remember seeing any spiders... but there are plenty of other types of bugs in the movie.

Most of the bugs looked like they were dreamed up by Peter Jackson and his special effects team WETA, most were just generic looking.

The bugs in the film never bothered me, but I did notice a few people cringing when they were on screen.

That pic is a little hard to see, but maybe you will get the idea of what I'm talking about.

<marcie has run screaming from the room> Thanks, Mike. You remind me of my brother. He was always throwing spiders at me and loves to send me postcards of tarantulas. Funny guy.

Thanks for the feedback, Jmuncy. I saw those bugs in a making of King Kong episode on HBO so I think I'll go. It's just a bug... Was the movie worth possibly losing sleep over? :)

dharrison, I feel your pain. My husband was gone on a fishing trip one weekend and a monster spider appeared in my kitchen (even the dog was scared). It always happens when I'm alone and it took me HOURS to get into the kitchen again.

Don't be scared of spiders. It's bad for your health. FACT!

Cured yet?
