I've been reading a post and people talk about checking to see how many links Google says you have to your site.
I'm curious about how you can check to see how many links you have to your site.

Enter link:http://www.yourdomain.com/ into the search box and it'll give you the amount of links to that page in that search engine.
This doesn't work with all search engines and furthermore the results can be suspect. Google for example is known not to give you a complete figure.

There are several tools available as per previous posts, but if you want to know exactly how then here is a brief list of commands:
Linkdomain:yourdomain.com
This will show you all of the pages that link to any page on that domain (url.com)
Link:http://www.yourdomain.com/yourpage.html
This will show you only pages that link directly to that yourpage.html
Linkdomain:yourdomain.com word
This will show you all pages with the term "word" that link to pages from yourdomain.com
Linkdomain:yourdomain.com -term
This will exclude links that use the term to link to your site.
Linkdomain:yourdomain.com -site:yourdomain.com
This will show you links to any pages at yourdomain.com but does not include internal links from yourdomain.com
Hope this helps.
