Smokers Edge

I designed this site, from scratch, logo and all, I was hoping to get some unbiased opinons on the logo, please help.

Seems that site sells cigarettes, but your logo remind me 'drive prohibited' road sign with cigarette inside, that makes association - 'no cigarettes'.

I'm of the same opinion as altima...
the message communicated here is one of prohibition, or activities not allowed.

perhaps it's a clever way to sell cigarettes AND remind people that one day they should quit....lol...

hey no one is commenting here on the rest of the layout so i will be the first by saying that it's nice and clean and asside from the "No Smoking" red-circle the page looks great.......it's xhtml too right......that is good....

one thing that i will bring up.......i guess it sorta goes w/ the "non-smoking" icon that everyone else is bringing up.......

but the actual title of the site, domain name, etc...."Smoker's Edge"........well....coming from my ex-smoker point of view (i used to smoke 2-3 packs of Camel UNFILTERED a day and have all the yellow teeth to prove it!....i would have been a great client 4U a few years back)

that EDGE you speak of.......well if you ever want to feel "edgy" try to quit smoking 2 packs a day cold turkey and it will bring new meaning to the word "EDGY" .......hence a "SMOKERs Edge" in my mind connotes the visual of a place where smokers are having a hard time quitting and are just standing around in a room being nasty to one another........not to purchase cigaretts....

if hope you are following me here....i'm not at all digging on your site but if i were surfing through Google and came across your domain name in a sea of Cigarette related sites.....i would unconsciously put it in the "Smokenders" catagory rather that to mark it as a place to buy cigs....

perhaps "SMOKER's LEDGE" is an easier place to hang out than "Smoker's Edge" ??

Or perhaps even "Smoker's Hedge" to connote a Green Party approach like 'even though we smoke we're still all for the environment and are really into gardening & landscaping'
(i always thought this is what Benson & Hedges stood for...lol.....)

That's to funny, man! LMAO :o)

As to site and logo, I think that the banner is to spread out with the cig/circle to clost to the title.
Also, on the left menu, this heading "Recommended Merchants" is the same size as your link text so it looks like a 'visited' link to me. If it was bigger, it would be consistent with the other header text and be easier to understand.
