Hi John,
I definitely like #2, but can you clean up/sharpen the black text at the bottom? Perhaps use a more "digital" font? That would make it perfect for me.

Hey SpideRee,
Thank you for voting. Did you have a specific font in mind?

Hi John
I think #4 is my favourite, I would like to see what it looked like without the grid background.
This would make the logo appear cleaner & reduce the tension beween the italicised main font and the vertically oriented wave and baseline text.
I would avoid disrupting the smooth waveform, and you might also want to experiment with using an upright font for the company name (just to explore all possible variations!).
I do like the limited color pallete and overall feel - it gives the impression of a very professional, hi-tech company.

I like #1 - But not sure whatthe symbol means
I like #2 even more - nice simple lines
Don't like #3 - The J/T in wave doesn't work
#4 is OK the wave form looks odd somehow
Looking at your web site 4 is largerer than your current top area so will mean making a bigger header area and will spoil the proportions of your site
So its #2 for me

Julian

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our logos. The input from this forum has been extremely helpful in our efforts to improve our logo.
paulhiles,
The background grid is actually part of the waveform, if you view a waveform on a scopemeter the grid is part of the display.
I also tried it with the upright font for the name, I personally feel the italic gives it separation from the waveform and tag line and a more progressive look.
Julian,
The symbol in the 1st logo is an SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) the main component of a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). I don't expect everyone to know that, but in our industry it's a very recognizable symbol.
I noticed you checked out our website, (any comments on that would be appreciated) and your right #2 does fit with our site the best.

Thanks again to everyone,
Greetings,
#2 is definately the most visually appealing. The italic font gives it personality. Personally I wouldn't change a thing especially given how it looks with your website. Very professional, represents your company well.

Mike

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to thank everyone who voted and for the great input. We have decided on the logo. The logo with the waveform to the left of the name (#2) was the top vote getter. We removed the grid from behind Joliet Technologies. This left us with a clean look, keeping the logo separate from the name.

Once again, thank you to everyone,
