Should Different Pages Have Different Keywords

Hi,
I am redoing my furniture site and got to wondering if different pages should have different keywords and descriptions.

Any suggestions? The site I am talking about is: http://www.yellowstonefurniture.com - I know it is a very simple site and looks like a non-experienced person did it, but ya know, we get orders off of it - and that is what counts. But, I am trying to make it look a bit more professional.

I would keep a couple the same or similar, but keywords should be fully dependant on each pages content. If you one page has wood furniture and another has steel furniture then each page should have different keywords as well.

Use the overture keyword tool to find out what keywords you should use. I would say it is a must, but more than anything your Title and Description is where it really counts.

Yes, you should make page specific keywords. Your keyowrds should reflect what's on your page. If a single page has has multiple keywords, then divide the page. Also on your homepage you are wasting your most valuable real estate on adsense.

For your enlarged pictures, you should make those seperate website pages, instead of just the enlarged picture.

why do you have different pages? Probably because you've segmented your offering. Stands to reason you should say something different on each page and that requires different copy. If you've got different copy, optimise for it.

Different web pages on your site have different content--the title tag, the meta keywords tag, and the meta description tag should accurately describe the content of that page.

Target one keyword phrase per page.

Thanks for the suggestions. Once I have the site completed, I will put it into the forum for "site review". I am hoping it will have a totally awesome presence to it. Something much more professional looking.

I have bought books on website seo, but couldn't find an answer about changing meta tags to follow the theme of the different pages. Now I have my answer. Thanks.

How would I divide the page? I am not sure what you are saying. And, then your next statement, about wasting my most valuable real estate on adsense. That went over my head too.

And, you mean I should make an individual page for each larger picture? Why?

By breaking up your pages into smaller pages, you can effectively target specific keywords, instead of lumping multiple keywords onto 1 page. Also your page naming needs help, keywords in your naming will also help in SERP's. From the looks of it you are using the default WYSIWYG editor names.

Your Adsense is at the very top of the page, meaning this is the first thing your customers are looking at. Do you want them clicking off your site just to make you a couple cents or do you want your customers purchasing your products?

By creating individual pages for your products you can use the product as your search phrase, so when a customer looks for one of your products they can be taken to the product page.
