I need to translate a website into 5 languages. Because I've used a JavaScript fold out menu, the menu doesn't translate automatically when using any of the free online translators. I really don't want to get rid of the JS menu just so I can link to a free online translator. I know I could manually copy & paste to translate each page (for free) but is there a software I could use that would speed this up? I really don't want to copy & paste 5 times for every change I make on this website. Nor do I want to get rid of the JS menu & put text links. I don't mind paying for a translation software to own, I just don't want to pay a monthly fee for the online translators. Anyone have any advice or experience with translating a website? Thanks.

Not sure if this helps or not, but the Google Language Tools (http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en) are pretty slick...
:)

Hello,
Why not make a template for each language, in which you have all your pop out or rollout menu translated for once in each language, and then you only need to translate each page and apply template to it. So the navigation looks the same for all languages (consistency), and menus are translated once and for all. I did it on a website I had to translate into 4 languages, once the time was spent in creating the foreign language template, it was all quite fast.

Are your dropdown menues generated completely through code? Is that why they don't translate? What if you use dropdowns that are hidden layers that are revealed on mouseover. Wouldn't they get translated?

I ended up creating a duplicate website with a text menu. The main website http://www.sellbuyrealty.com has the nice fold out menu I was talking about that wouldn't translate.

But I think aventvoy had a good idea with making the different language templates for the JS navigation menu. That would have worked. I might try it out later.

By the way, that abnoxiously large globe was not my idea. My client insisted on it. ugh!
