Hi Guyz
My website was enjoying very good saturation. No unethical practice have been incorporated.
All of suddden Google dropped the website, its showing now PR 0 and no indexing.. no backlinks.. everyhting is ruined.. Earlier it has PR 5 , very good saturation and backlinks. if someone can figure it out .. what could be the possible reason. Is their any significant change in the Google algorithm.

Miki,
You need to post the URL.
Ken

Miki, is this the same site you asked about a couple of weeks ago? The one you thought might be blacklisted?

If so, you might want to post the URL so that someone here can take a look.

We had a PR 5 ranking with Put My Finger then suddenly all the directory is sitting at 0, both static and dynamic pages. The only thing done that we can see at our end was that a meta tag was introduced to all template driven pages which was Index Follow. Any other sites i have seen that have had the same happen to them have also had this meta tag as well. Could it be possible?

A lot of directories have been hit, didn't spot a thread on that here, so check out the one at Webmasterworld.....

IMO - Directories are being particularly hard hit because of the new OBL Relevancy Filter!
They are "tieing it down at the source" to depreciate link spam, one level up! If you were link mongering from a high PR site to irrelevant pages you got hit! If you are going to sell links, they better better be related to your Site.
If I am wrong, let me hear and see it!
It's a whole new linking game, Directories included!

IMO, I dont believe directories are being targeted spefically but rather a victim to relevancy OBL's filters in place as Ken has stated.

Sorry, but are we claiming a bright new dawn for the topical link? ;-)

I can't believe what I am reading. Yes, relevant OBL's are going to help more then irrelevant links. But are they actually going to hurt your own site? Obviously i'm not talking about a full page of links, but a regular site with a banner link or two.
But lets not forget the original reason for links and that simple reason is for traffic, and hopefully that traffic will make you money. You can't lump sum all links into one large ambiguous group.
If you have a decent site selling something, then I wouldn't have links for people to leave my site. But if you have an informational site and someone is paying you to place a banner link, then why not do it? Who's to say what is relevant or not?
