Hey StanleyNik, if you're not a spammer, how about if you come up with a list of ways that your host is better than my existing one (where my dedicated box sits?)

www.sectorlink.com is the host. And no, I don't work for them (I'm not even in the same country). I've just been using them for over 3 years, and it's to the point where I don't even question that they're the best. Haven't had my server go down in over a year (except when I rebooted it), they add domains to the DNS servers in about 3 minutes or less (wish they could do pizza that fast...that would rock!), they're nothing but patient and professional, they offer Live Stats (or if you want free stats, AWStats too) and they helped me solve Canadian bank issues with my server that really had nothing to do with them.

The only time I've ever had a support ticket go longer than 20 minutes was with something extremely complex or weird (like the bank issues...that took over 2 days, but I certainly don't blame them. That was 100% the bank's fault, but that's another story). And they actually give a damn about their customers.

Go ahead and top that. I'm thinking you can't.

Interesting. We actually host at our bank's facilities, so in our case it WOULD be their fault. ;-)

We've been very pleased with our hosting. We used to host in-house, but this is a whole lot better.

Indeed it would be. Not to mention that it's a lot less worry since all the security end is taken care of and not your responsibility.

Mind you, that's a tad bit of an apples to oranges comparison in that he's spamming for a shared host and you're legitimately talking about what appears to be a dedicated or colo host. I'm sure he'll jump all over that and ignore mine completely if he posts back.

He also spammed for a $99 dedicated server. They offer co-location as well. I talked to someone there after he posted, and they don't really know what's going on. They didn't understand how we'd need bigger than a 136 GB drive, or why I could possibly need more than 3 of those in a RAID 5 array.

Another concern was that they're offering 1 TERABYTE of data transfer for $99/month. Decent hosts charge closer to $2 per GB of transfer, so this is about 5% of what it should be, and that's just bandwidth. They're offering dedicated servers for that amount.

Besides... going for the title of this post, "any better Windows hosting?", of course there is. Any time you're hosted on someone else's machine in a shared hosting environment, there is always going to be a lot better hosting available.

Ummmm, Now is a SPAM promotion that has been shot down in flames worth leaving so that people can read the rebuke or does the Spammer not care as long as the link stays ummmm.
