Why am I seeing a sudden influx of images in signatures? Everything from banner ads to animated buttons. Anyone else find this annoying and distracting when reading through the posts? I hadn't seen them here before, but suddenly there are several posts with images popping up in the signatures.

They're not supposed to be there. Tap a mod on the shoulder, we'll go after them with guns blazing.
Well, not really, but we'll zap the image and give them a friendly reminder that sig images are technically no-no's.
I just saw one myself, not sure if it was the thread you were looking at, but I took care of it.
Hey Brian, sorry man I didn't know that was a rule and Rah asked me to take mine off the other day. I was using sloganizer which I love because it changes slogans on every page refresh (and some times the results are pretty funny) I use that same sig on all the forums I go to... so sorry wasn't trying to upset anyone ;)

That zap hurt. I felt it even through my wireless connection on my laptop. Hope the person that it was aimed at got more of a jolt than I.
;-)

Oh, and I see one here: http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=47977

You're so grounded. Take 10 minutes in the breakroom corner, and if that doesn't drive you batty, nothing will. (j/k)
Oh, and I wasn't upset... just confused since I thought it was a rule here... but that's just the nature of the beast. The capability is there, but it gets distracting so we're asked not to do that here.

I didn't read between the lines very well. I'll try harder next time. I'm still not 100% after the accident. A few more cracks from my chiropractor and I should be much better at reading between the lines again.
Brian.
Hey theres some guy in the thread reviewing my neo1seo site with an image too...
And Brian have you ever considered an Inversion Table? After my accident and numerous chiropractor visits I bought one.... best investment I've ever made! After sitting at the pc all day getting on the table and hanging upside down feels nice :D

Hmmm... I may have to try that. Or maybe one of those gyroscopic thingys that they have at space camp. That could be fun as well.
Hey, does a re-inversion table put you back upright?
Brian.

Only if you're already upside down :P

I guess I'll need an inversion table and a reinversion table so I can get back upright when I'm done. ;-)

Hey putting me into the captain church area is a blow I did not see coming. This one hurts.

Why not just validate the input on the signature field and reject signatures with an [ img ] tag or more than two new lines. A few minutes of coding would save the mods some time. It makes more sense to prevent a rule from being broken then it does to correct it each time it is.

This is the breakroom. We can have no logic here. Away with you, oh beast of common sense.

Ah, yes ... Invasion of the Forum Posters ...
Poor webhost1 - I apologize if your feelings were hurt ... CptChurch always posts his phone number in his sig. block - give him a call and he'll cheer you up for a small donation to his cause ... if he even knows ... :)
ctabuk has been "admitted" for admitting to his numerous crimes against sanity - after a spell with jawn_tech in the chamber, he'll be back in no time - just a little altered ...

First the blow below the belt, next I am poor (where did all the money go to) and next I am suppose to make a call, with what might I add since I am poor. Next my obituary will be posted with all my "friends" taking the time off to go pub hopping in honor of this occassion. :(

Oohh ... good idea! Do you have an open tab somewhere? It'd be nice if you'd make sure there's a nice, substantial credit on it so that we may have many toasts in your honor ...
I'm really not good at eulogy writing; could you prepare something in advance?
Like good WPW folk - we'll appoint one spokesman to read what you write and then we'll all just nod in agreement :)

Yeah... because we all know that MVP's just agree with each other it's a given that we'll just nod. This is a great plan. Oh, and could you make sure that we're at the reading on a Friday so that we can just make it a 3 day weekend? That'd be much appreciated.
