View Full Version : E-commerce
Is E-commerce really worth it? Can someone please give me some feedback on what is the best way to make the most money with E-Commerce! I found a website (http://www.osaid.com/) where they give an overview of E-Commerce (http://www.osaid.com/) and actually create a customized site for you! I am really interested in it so please give me feedback and tell me if its worth it! Thanks

That's too broad a question and depends on way too many factors to answer in this thread.
Basically, setting up an e-commerce site is the exact same as setting up a business. Ask yourself the same questions you would if the business were brick and mortar. If you don't come up with acceptable answers, then it's the wrong site for you.

In my opinion, if you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, then you should look somewhere else. The best ecommerce sites made by people or small businesses are ones made by people who have a passion for what they are selling. These are the ones that I and millions or other people keep shopping at. The people who put in the time and effort, and make a commitment to make a great website and sell their products in the best way that know how to, are the ones who succeed. Ecommerce is a time consuming process. There's no quick way to go about it. I would start reading topics in this forum and other ebusiness forums for the basic information. Also check out: http://www.entrepreneur.com/ebusiness/0,6292,,00.html. It is a good place to get information.

What have you got to sell that people want to buy? Can you sell it at an attractive price, and still make a profit? If you had an ecommerce site, how would you attract visitors to it? And what compelling reasons can you offer them to stop and purchase from you, instead of going somewhere else?
If you can give good answers to those questions and you are prepared to work hard, ecommerce can make a very successful business. But it's definitely not an easy way to get rich quick.

Full time occupation? You bet it is! Be prepared to work as hard at this as you would any other business. It's harder because you don't get people passing by, you have to go out there and grab them with backlinks, articles or any other way you can. Be prepared to hang on for at least 6 months before anything happens. You can't afford to lose interest, you must put your store out there in any way you can and when you see it strat to pay off, it's a very satisfying feeling. Then the work really begins.
