One way of promoting a new site is to submit to free Traffic programs. This definitely brings in massive trafic. But make sure you join targeted traffic givers or else there is no point in just gettting hits. I have joined a few sites and now I get atleast 800-1000 visitors a day.But sadly only a few enquiries. Hence if you are looking for massive untargeted traffic I'd prefer http://www.wildfirehits.com and if you prefer targeted traffic join http://www.trafficwithcash.com
And if you search you can find about another 1000 traffic sites more.

Thanks for the above info. In fact I was looking for a recommended traffic site to join and I'll definitely have a look at those sites you listed. This is a far better way to promote rather than send emails and have your site shut down for spamming. I too was a victim of such an email opt-in list buyer and had my site shut down within no time.

Well as yoursubject line suggests " It definitely worked". I joined the second website ( 'cause I wanted targeted visitors) and now the counter has started moving and also 3 enquiries came within 2 hours. Wish I new about about this 5 months back when I started my site.
Can you also post some other such FREE targeted web traffic websites? I don't have money to pay for, instead I will surf and earn credits for my site too.

Yes I am searching for a good one. I have joined many but most of them have only MLM & other Money making websites in them. Hence we can assume that these are only seen by such webmasters alone.There is no use in joining such sites. I will post here when I find a good one that can be comapred to those sites I posted above.

The biggest problem with 'traffic swarm' types of hits is that you can't tell how much of your failure to convert is with your own website and how much is just that you're attracting the wrong types of visitors, regardless of how 'targeted' they allegedly are.

So using this type of traffic generator could actually hurt your efforts to make money.

(By the way, on that TrafficWithCash site...a surfer would have to surf for 27.75 hours to make ONE dollar. I think I'll pass :-)

Tried it, customer don't like it! Most important is the fact that is never produced sales and personally when I go to a site and get bombarded with popups I leave and don't return.
Of course this is a personal preference and they did not work for my site, they may work for others.
Also I never had any luck with banner exchanges or for that matter link exchanges except with private parties. The bigger sites want their banner on your main page and they put your banner on the back page. When I do exchanges anymore I put them on the same place they put me or I just don't exchange links.

Am I glad that my website was referred in this topic. I am the webmaster of http://www.trafficwithcash.com and am really happy with the above reviews. What Ohioadman said is right. Surfers usually hate Popups & Popunders which might even provide a negative effect in the minds of surfers. It is almost like Spam ( that is unsolicited).
Our way of providing traffic is to our members who bring in more referrals and also they see only those sites that they are interested in.That is a person who wants to see a site for Career oppurtunities are not bombarded with MLM & Money making sites. We also strictly disallow Popoups on all sites.
Hence webmasters get quality traffic and not just hits "JUST TO TURN YOUR COUNTER".
About 50% of our members are ordinary surfers and not webmasters, hence one gets a chance of websales.
I have seen many traffic sites, where all 99% members are webmasters. It is just like opening a Grocery store and asking other grocery store owners to buy from them.Will that be possible? That is the reason why webmasters complain that they get hits BUT NO SALES.
Anyway enough said, hope to have you all as our members . It is free so why not try?

As per your advice I joined both the above Traffic sites. www.wildfirehits.com got me traffic almost wildly. That is all my credits got exhausted within no time. But I got no inquiries. I found out why? No one is seeing my site. One can easily cheat by minimising the window and asking to Auto surf. There is also no site targeting as well. A great waste of time.
The other one www.trafficwithcash.com seems a lot better. It doesn't allow one to leave the place while Auto surfing. It checks for user existence randomnly. That's a great idea.It also has site targeting as one has to select a category before he starts surfing. A great boon to webmasters like me who prefer to stay away from those MLM,money making sites. And wait, this site also pays a surfer for every 5000 credits. But it is only 1$. Maybe I will buy a handkerchief with that.Still it is better than nothing.

www.wildfirehits.com is a real wild fire…but it did last only one day. Almost 800 people visited my site from there but did not spend any time at all.

www.trafficwithcash.com is a different story: people visit and stay. It does worth to get listed there, for us at least.

This is the simplest, most easily understood explanation of how traffic exchanges work that I have found yet:

Go to the site and read the archives. Then go to the forum and lurk. Much of what you read will make little sense, since you are so new to the traffic exchange concept, but you may pick up a few tips. Jon is also very happy to answer any questions you might have. Very friendly and professional.

For example: Did you know that you can get a free software download that stops popups? Surfing efficiently is nearly impossible without one.

And that there are browsers that handle many websites at once, rather than only one, like Internet Explorer? This is how you maximize your surfing/clicking time. Instead of waiting for one window to load, then closing it and going to the next, you can have 5 or more going at the same time. Some names I've seen discussed are Crazybrowser, Smart Explorer, and MIE2.

How about the fact that you should NEVER join an autosurf traffic exchange? The whole point of joining a traffic exchange is to have your site seen by as many people as possible, right? Well, with autosurf programs, everyone there is racking up the credits, but NO ONE is looking at the web pages while they surf. Neither would you either, so what's the point?

As in this earlier post, most of the Auto surf sites are just cheating as anyone can Autosurf without even watching any sites by minimising the window.
However our site www.trafficwithcash.com randomnly checks user existence by asking the user to click on , or else the Auto surf sops right there without giving any further credits to such cheaters.
Moreover here surfers select what category they want to surf , hence targeted traffic can be acheived.
Thus a person who wants to see a site about Education & Career are not bombarded with MLM, Money making sites.( Please check other Auto ,Manual surf sites and you can see that none of them are targeted )
Through our members feedback and the astonishing rate at which we get new members , we are pretty much sure that a genuine traffic generation site cannot be beat.

The reason you are getting only a few inquiries (correct spelling by the way)is because EVERYONE is just trying to get to the next click AS FAST AS THEY CAN. If they stop to look they will loose their "speed surf for fifteen minutes a day and I will be a millionaire by next week" guru's support and blessing.

These programs sell you a crock. Rotators are a sham. Do you think ANYONE really goes to other pages than their own to look at their "stats" and greedily rub their hands together waiting for the next sucker to cough it up?

Finally I found a competitor ( strangely no website) who have joined webproworld on 20th Oct 2003 solely for the purpose of posting in this discussion.This is quite understandable as any site that tends to grow beyond a limit have such competitors post anonymous messages like this.
Another great mistake he said was that he registered 5 sites in our site. In fact a user is allowed only to register 3 URL's at the most unless he has a subscription to our system.
Our 70% of surfers are from USA and 30% from rest of the world.
And ours is a system that checks for users existence randomnly by asking the viewers to "click on" to see next site.( hence cheating can be avoided)
All the above facts can be understood and experienced only by genuine users and not by competitors like him who may not have ever joined our site.
Anyway thanks to his posting that had let me post a few answers that would otherwise have been unavailable.

I have checked my subscription list and I have found none having registered more than 4 URL's, in their membership. Hence this gentleman "Proweb999" can be safely assumed to be a frustrated competitor fed up with his no sales traffic site. I recommend him to sell his site at http://www.allcompared.com that is a boon for all such webmasters who had thought that they would make big.
And another thing is that nobody can guarantee sales, and if one had thought so,is is pure nonsense. If one had to acheieve sales, they should have some product worth buying. Our service is that we show these sites of a particular category to those surfers interested in veiwing them, unlike other Traffic stes that dont have any category to surf. We tried traffic with cash and even bought an inexpensive package, but the traffic is very slow. Most days we do not even see 1 hit from this site. It may be that some categories are hotter than others?

Well we have found www.trafficwithcash.com an inexpensive way of promoting among ONLY TARGETED viewers.We tried that for a free 500 visitors and later bought a package for 10000 visitors. What I find best is , the visitors I get are only those interested in my category and not just blind visitors you get from some other traffic programs.

I agree that it is very hard to generate any "sales" from free traffic. On the other hand, I have had success with getting people to join my email newsletter by offering a freebie on the page that they surf. I don't even talk about getting them to buy a product.
