I'd like for you to review my logo and tell me what you think. I tryed to upload it but couldn't find anywhere to upload it to.
I do Photo restorations and Digital Art.
Thanks!

A newbie's opinion, but it might have some kinda weight. When I look at your logo, it reminds me of decoration on a birthday cake (buttercream frosting -yum!). In that respect, I like it. Is that what you were goin' for? (Probably not.) If you do choose to change it, perhaps you might like to add "sparklies" around the new logo to denote "magic" (like in the magic hat/magic wand/abracadabra flavor). I know that's what I was expecting when I clicked to review your logo.

hello,
I think the logo is great but it needs a higher rosolution

I can do the higher resolution, but the sparkles may take some time to figure out. I will certainly give it a go to see I like what you are talking about. I was going for simple and memorable. Thanks a bunch for the input!

Great effect around your logo -- looks like magic to me! Will you be moving the photo before/after effect higher on the page? I noticed that I had to scroll down a bit to get a full shot of it. It was the before/after effect that also "sparked" ;o) the idea of the logo effect you now have.

And as far as it being toooo sparkly ... maybe perhaps more feedback from other forum members (designers) will help you make that determination. Although, the turquoise color does seems out of place to me.

Dazzling job, Mscrow. Happy New Year!

Nice job, Ms. Crow! What a cutie-patootie, is she yours? I like the photo before/after effects, that's cool stuff.

Oh, BTW, I recently found a nice "haunt" you may want to visit and bookmark (if you haven't already) that have javascripts to manipulate images like nobody's business http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/index.html.

What's great about this site is that they work out the bugs in the scripts and also tell you whether a script is compatible with all browsers or not, and if they're not, they'll tell you wether or not they "degrade well" in non-compatible browsers.

You might want to go there and download a few scripts (I did, although I don't know what I'm going to use them for - but they were just too cool to pass up).

I don't need image-type javascripts but I love browsing scripts like these when I need a "Brain Drain" (that's a page on my site where I put some of these scripts to use).

Good luck and Happy New Year.

Was wondering if I should change the background color of my logo or does it stand out on the white?

Okay, here's my two cents worth:

I like your logo and it looks great on the white background. I would, however, change your "magic" sparkles to some static sparkles around the logo with just one or two twinkles twinkling on and off maybe at the 10 and 4 o'clock positions. That, I think would still give a magical look to the logo with out looking corny or cartoony.
I also like your before and after "magic" with the photos. I did, however, have one suggestion. The restoration image of the woman is a great idea, but I feel that since you are promoting that you can do this, you should make the after picture look right. It seems to be stretched horizontally making the woman look like she has "linebacker" shoulder and her face is wider than what it should be. If you were to fix that, I think that it would make people more inclined to want your services.
Please don't think I am beating you up with this, I am only trying to help.

Excellent observation! I couldn't quite put my non-designer finger on the razzle-dazzle. I think you're absolutely right. Sometimes less is more.

Hi Margie,
I liked the logo and the changes that you have made. One quick thought though - you are in the digital restoration biz - perhaps your logo could incorporate a little digital magic? Perhaps show a prospective client your capabilities - bring some texture and life to it. You can, I'm sure, do wonders with graphics so bring the same to the logo. Maybe look at your most successfull competitors and see what they do.
