I hope this guy wins again, also doesn't Google understand it is a play on words from the word "frugal"? It seems like they have bought or sued anyone with a domain that has "oog" in it.

But doesnt google own froogle, so it is similar to that. However, i do think that google doesnt seem to respect the way the internet works. If i get a domain before you then you have to buy it off me or just move on. As long as they're not using any google logo or anything, i cant see the problem. Maybe they should try asking for a line to be added, saying this site has no association with google.

jkomp, I'm not disagreeing with you for the hell of it, but you are wrong in your sentence above.

If there is a trademark infringement found to be occuring by a court of law, then the domain name will be reallocated to Google for simply the price of registration.

Sadly, the internet works in this way. It is not separate from the copyright and trademark laws of the country involved.

Again, Google is showing its true colors. The "BIG" bully syndrome. I hope this guy from "Froogles" wins. Google needs some humbling, but this will probably turn into another public relations sore for G anyways.

They seem to think they're Microsoft.

adbart, I was talking about netiquette, like the general theses of the internet. I know laws apply to the internet just as much as anywhere else, but google should respect the way things are done on the net. If these guys got a good domain name that google would like, they should congratulate them on being so forward thinking and set their bid price for the domain. A legal battle costs just as much if not more.

what a joke, I imagine the supreme court justices are enjoying a week at the google spa in hawaii to "ponder" their decision.
