I saw a URL at one point to check your sites ranking in MSN for certain keywords. Now I cant find it. Does anyone know of a good one?

You can check MSN rank, Yahoo rank, Google rank, Google UK, AltaVista, Ask Jeeves and Teoma rank here: (http://www.accuracast.com/search-engine-rank.php?&ch_google=1&ch_yahoo=1&ch_msn=1&ch_ask=1&select=100)

Any suggestions what datacent uses this tool?
My site have some positions in google that I cannot find on any datacenter. Or it's not quite acurate?

It does not work for MSN

I noticed this issue myself a while ago. Strangely enough, it does work for MSN for the same keywords in some places and not in others. Which led me to believe MSN are localising their results to some extent. So if your IP address has more localised search results available, you might see those ranked higher while the tool does not. This of course is just a theory. Any other suggestions are welcome.

I agree. From this first few days after the release of MSN search I noticed and 'aired' my views that the searches were localised. This just confirms my theory and I also notice the difference in ranking when checking the actual SE within MSN and using ranking tools.

This doesn't change the fact that the tool will still give you some kind of comparitive idea of what your ranking is doing elsewhere, the question is, where is elsewhere?

It seems to have problems on MSN with competitive search terms.

Now you can track Yahoo / MSN Rankings along with Google Rankings.

Good Luck.

Just thought I'd let you know that the tool at:

http://www.accuracast.com/search-engine-rank.php

now offers the ability to check rankings on 19 major search destinations, including Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask Jeeves and their UK versions too.

It seems to have problems on MSN with competitive search terms.

We got that fixed too. The problem had arisen due to a weird way in which MSN rolled out its updated search engine - while the code was pinging an older data server which ran the old SE, we were viewing results on the new, improved MSN.

The results therefore matched for those whose keywords weren't affected by the updates in the algo, whereas the sites affected by the updated algo were showing wrong results. All fixed now!

Try it out for MSN.co.uk:

and MSN.com:

I tried entering www.photogenicbride.com with the search term wedding photographer. I received the following results:

Yahoo ranks your site : 6
MSN Search ranks your site : 1

But when I go to www.msn.com and enter wedding photographer, PhotogenicBride is not even on the first page.

Why is this?

Thanks,
