I may have posted this in the wrong place so if you want to move it it's ok.
I've been doing this for a longtime, and I have come to one conclusion. You can try and fight your way up the ladder, but it's what you give to the visitor, that makes the difference.

I like to mix my reality presence (A Store Front) with the web. I show them what I can do on the web and deliver it in the store. I just think the fight for a presence on the web isn't worth it. They will find you, but it takes time and effort. And once they find you, you have to keep them interested. A customer likes interaction, a personal feeling, and service.
