How many times a day do you check your adsense account?

For me, about 10-20 times a day.

I'm thinking of creating an application thats feature rich that will do this for me, how many would be interested in something like this? Also what would be a fair price to charge for such an app? I have a price in mind but wanted to get a couple peoples opinions first.

Certainly sounds like a nice idea, although ideally you could specify the partner programs you'd want it to check, so in my case I'd like to check Adsense, Mirago and Espotting and for those accounts to be updated every hour and a running total given.

Also it would be good if the info was stored locally so you could run revenue reports offline for different accounting periods etc.

Ideally you'd have a running total that updates through the day each month - plus maybe a complete running total.

I'd certainly pay a bit if it could pull from all those mentioned (other people might want plugins for overture and other ppc's as well).

In fact if you could have a base install for Adsense and maybe buy plugins for other schemes if you want them that would be spot on.

hope this helps

:) I did that for myself just the other day. I'm new to these forums not sure if I can post URLs here, will check and post again if it's permitted.

Basically the tool lets people either run one-time reports (paranoid mode -- these are not saved anywhere) or set up a free account and watch changes. I myself don't log into adsense any more at all.

The report provides pay per click, pay per 1000 impressions, graphs, 10-period moving averages and some other stuff that I found useful for myself.

People seem to be posting urls freely here, so here it is. Mods, please remove if I'm crossing the line.

Playground reports are not saved anywhere, even temporarily.

How do you like Mirago and Espotting? Can you tell me a little about how they work..?
Thanks

hi becky

espotting and mirago are basically ppc search engines that whose results you can serve and take a percentage of the click through revenue.

for example if you go to http://www.intersearching.co.uk and search for something fairly common such as loans you'll see 5 sponsored links 1st in the results then followed by categories and then our own links.

if someone clicks on one of those sponsored links then you get a percentage of the cost of the click (generally 20-60% depending on the amount of clicks you generate). they can be a great source of additional revenue if you have a targetted site, or a search site. you can also embed search results directly into pages in much the same way as adsense works - but choosing the keywords yourself.

just ask if you'd like any more info (as a further note espotting have far more advertisers than mirago at present and so a greater variety and cost per click to you the publisher).

hope this helps

I don't think it would be all that good if it just checks your adsense earnings as it's just as easy to actually go to Adsense it self and do it from there.

But it would be a good idea if you or someone else produced a piece of software that could collect all of your earnings and clickthrus, sales, leads, etc. from all of the affiliate programs that you are with.

10-20 times a day sounds a lot. Either you're earning big through it, or you've not got lots else on! :)

I am guilty of checking it a few times a day, but really there should be no need to check more than about twice a day IMO even if you're a big earner. You're better off spending your time getting more visitors into your site, and thus earning more clicks/revenue.

at least one a day. as many as five times.

re: the software, would it be on people's own server or machine? no offense intended, but i'd be leery about putting in my uname and pword for various affiliate programs into anything other than the original sites. i think i read a thread on this idea somewhere else, but i can't remember where at the moment.

also, what happens if/when the companies in question find out about it and keep changing their reports, etc., so you're constantly having to change the scrapes to get the content.

now, if all the affiliate programs would get together and come up with a format with this data and they knew about it and approved i think you would have something...

I check mine once a day, maybe twice if it looks like a good day. I only have one site with ads so it's not a big deal, but if I had several, it would be nice to have a way to get an automatic email once day telling me what I'd earned.

Don't know that I'd pay much since I don't spend much time on it. I would think that's what your pricing decision boils down to. How much time would your program save someone?

Good luck!

I'm with KPaul - I'm way too paranoid to just freely input my user name and password to my Google Adsense account, or any account for that matter into someone else's site, regardless of what they are offering me. So, I got that far on the site mentioned above, and then, whoops, sorry. I'll just check my stats at Google.com/adsense thank you.

I also agree if you're visiting Google's Adsense stats constantly, you might have too much time on your hands? LOL. Better to work on increasing the revenue and checking it once a day.

It's a little like constantly steeping on the bathroom scale - those little nudges up and down are meaningless - it's only what happens after a week or two that means something is happening.

Checking ten times a day might make you smile, only if you have enought CTR & earnings! No doubt, you can log in as many time as you like, as long as Adsense is not putting any restrictions on it.

I have collectively 3 sites each displaying Adsense panels spread to over 100 pages. I check it once a day and occassionally twice at the end of the day. But it makes no sense in visitng often, unless you have enough time to waste.

Kathryn is right in saying:
It's a little like constantly steeping on the bathroom scale - those little nudges up and down are meaningless - it's only what happens after a week or two that means something is happening.

If your site recieves more than 1000 page views per day then the earning would certainly be reasonable to recover your site maintainance expenses. (The CTR Not to be discussed.) Only for a few it is a big catch; :) for a small bait called Adsense.:) LOL

Anyway Adsense recently added many new features and one may just download the entire CTR & Earnings in CSV file with channel data page-wise or for that matter itemwise.

How many times a day do you check your adsense account?

As for me, I work with adsense for not more than 2 months.

I used to check the account 20 times a day as you do. But now I understood 2 things:
1) I realized the average profit I get from Google daily.
2) Google Adsense updates every 3 hrs (as far as I understood), so there's no need to check them too often :)

Thanks.

How many times a day do you check your adsense account?

In the beginning, I tend to check as many times as possible. The excitement is there. But, when practicality sinks in, you'll begin to evaluate your action. Would the number of times I check my adwords account correlate to the success of my business? Hmm..very unlikely indeed.

However, this also very much depends on whether one's involvement is a full time or part time basis in Internet marketing.

Practicing moderation is sometimes very necessary...

My guess the frequency depends on two factors:

1. How much time do you have to waste, and

2. How desperate you are for some extra change.

Tip: They usually pay once a month. If you want your money pronto - use direct deposit.

On most days, I find the updating rate is so slow that it's not worth checking more than say 3 times a day at the very most.

Once or two twice a day.
I suggest this application to help you: Google adsense tracker.

I check it once before bed as well. I dont understand why it needs to be checked throughout the day. Its not like itll change anything. Plus I feel like its delayed and Ill be disappointed when I see how low it is to start off.

Checking 20 times a day will get old real fast. It reminds me when I first got into the stock market during the mid/late 90's....exciting at first, then you realize that life goes on.

There is no matter how many times you check your stats because they are not in real time . My stats late sometimes all day
but I check them like checking my mail... there is nothing wrong to have a break checking some stats
I can check stats hours ... this is my favorite work :D

I check my google adsense stats about four times per day. I don't really get an totally accurate count till morning anyway so why bother?

I wouldn't buy any software to track what I can get for free, that's for sure

Good idea, but the idea has a key flaw -- Google AdSense operates on a delay which can range from 1 to 6 hours.

One of my sites does over $1,000/day on Google AdSense and I've seen huge difference in the stats between 11:59PM PST and 12:01AM PST (at midnight, Google tends to update everything nearly immediately, so you get real figures).
