Hey, don't know about you guys, but i have started to search with msn more and more recently, the quality of their results just seems higher than google's at the mo. What do you think?

I am also enjoying MSN. Could it be that Microsoft is on the verge of capturing yet another lucrative market. Have you notice the TV ads for MSN lately?

yeah i've noticed them. I checked google to see how many links i have 'link:www.jkomp.com' it says i have 7. While msn says i have 185, so they are obviously tracking things better.

Same here, I have only 12 backlinks with google, but 210 with msn, though google doesn't show all links, just a percentage.
I have a good ranking on MSN, but still nothing on google. I think google is shooting itself in the foot by using the so called, "sandbox" effect, or filter.
I find MSN now indexes pages so quickly, and seems to find all my backlinks.
The search numbers are picking up too!
Same here.
In addition, I have also noticed the frequency that they update their database with changes made is faster (e.g. title changes, ect...). I've even thought of adding the MSN search to some of my sites becuase of the good results yielded.

I agree, the results do seem to be as good if not better.
Here's my MSN story....
My previously Google sandboxed site ranks 3rd in MSN (Its has a PR5, DMOZ and Yahoo directory listing; ~5000 links; lots of fresh content; ok optimization)
My problem is the number 2 ranked site on MSN has crappy old content put together in an hour; its not updated; and only has a few links - I can not come close to see how MSN could rank this site there
The only good thing is that this site is also mine - I put the domain up, added the dodgey content, put in a few links relevant to the content and was going to leave it for 6-9 months to avoid the Google sandbox!! - then get to work on it. Google, quite rightly, does not rank it in the first 500
I think MSN will have problems if this is how they rank sites (not that I am complaining :-)

We ran into about the same problem with a site we had and after a couple weeks MSN droped the bad site.
Now it is not in the top 1,000

I am not sure if anyone has noticed this or not but the results on MSN are somewhat similar to the results on Yahoo. I know they are not exactly the same but given a margin of ten ranks they do appear to be similar.
Msn is definitely indexing at a fast rate and is becoming more and more popular as this is what I have noticed through the feedback of my customers.

I like msn because all of my sites are ranked higher there than google. Is it amazing? The sandbox thing will not benefit user and only benefit google. As I said before, the main purpose of sandbox is to ask webmasters to buy adsense. I am glad now we get msn, it send me even more traffic than yahoo for new sites. So I don't even need to consider google at all.
