Yes, you can view a successful free drawing contest on my website in my signature below for some ideas.
To advertise your drawing for free, just Google or Yahoo, using "freebies or free stuff" as search queries. Then find sites that are guides to "free stuff" on the web and submit your "free drawing" to their listing. This will give you natural inbound links, thus raising your PR or link popularity within search engines, as well.
