Several months ago I started http://www.eliteskills.com/tacos/.

It worked by simply putting evaluating the value of 1 SEO technique over another while controlling as many variables as possible.

For example, evaluating which gets a higher rank, a page linked with the keywords in the page but not in the link vs. a page linked with a keyword in the link but not the text.

Pages were given nearly equal wordcount and controlled density for the keywords.

What do you guys think?
Does the data work?

It would be a neat thing to monitor, as changes in google occur.

It must have been at least 2.5-3 months ago that you started this test since "tacos" has a PR5. This could be interesting.

It almost seems to me that one of the most important factors right now it to have the topic included in the URL. A subdirectory within LSI matches (near terms) may even score better!

If you really want to get serious with this test, give Orion a PM over at SearchEngineWatch.com forums. He's a very smart guy and someone I respect tremendously over there.
