We are changing our name from Design FX Group to Design FX Studios to place more focus on what we truely do. Any feedback on the logo would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First glance I thought this was going to be about macromedia products.

Actually...either you or another similar business 'fx studios' might not like my review. But I felt in all honesty to both that I should mention it (being that your both members of WPW).
My initial reaction when I saw your logo designfx was that cyanide of 'fx studios' had taken the green out of his logo. Until I visited your site & saw a different company.
Now I know that the logos to look at are different. But...they are both 'fx studios' and both carry an oblique as a logo (even if its a differnt shape & color). My immediate association was with the name 'fx studios' & the oblique shape. I visit cyanides site quite often, yet I stil had to have a double take when seeing yours designfx. Now I dont know if you or others saw it, I am jsut giving you my observation of it.
I hope I dont start any friction on this issue. I just thought it was worth letting you know my observation, in case either of you wanted to pay any credence to it. :-)

You have the following example on your Portfolio page which is, in my estimation, a much better starting-off point than the one here in your post. With a little work, it'd be quite nice

The reason I would reject the one on your post is because of the way the upper-case characters, with the font you're using, appear to distort the balance and contour of the word "STUDIOS." If this was in any way associated with the da Vinci code, I'd swear that the space created at the top and between the D and the I was meant to symbolize the Holy Grail. But absent that possibility, I simply see it as a breach of the rule that a word in excess of five characters should not be in all caps, without risking the wrath of the design gods, anyway.
If, however, you do go with the upper-case words, the space between the elements seems to be too much. As it is, there's an overall visual disunion between the words and the central oval.
