View Full Version : Need Color Suggestions Please!
I have changed the logo on my self defense products site, listed below. I am "challenged" concerning color matching and artistic things. I'm looking for suggestions that might make my site "pop" a little more, and appear friendlier. I want to tie the color scheme together a little better. I'm looking at changes for:
The Section Titles and Product Page Titles (color, font, and size)
Side navigation color change if needed.
Color of links within site are set to all be in blue (can be changed too)
Thank you very much for taking time to make suggestions for my site!

Hi CZ,
Nothing wrong with your color scheme as far as I can see. Everything is clear, warm and friendly and the color reflects what you are selling.
There may be ways to jazz it up but as far as I can see you have a nice clear site.
Advice, wait and see and get some customer feedback or ask you friends.
Take care, nice to see a good looking site. (Link your CSS it is taking up a lot of space)
Regards,
Keith
Thank you Keimos!
Surely we aren't talking about the same site? I removed the other one from my profile so as not to make a mistake. I already paid a programmer to move the java and css in the header area to files in my library.
I just had a new log made and perhaps there's been something muddied up with it's installation. Please confirm this is the site you looked at, or any newcomers might comment on ok? I have removed the other site as mentioned so there's no confusion.
Thanks, your opinions help very much!

Hi CZ,
Yes, wrong site, same template by the looks of it
The logo would look better against a darker background or have a larger shadow at the bottom. Maybe you could take the grey around the top and change the color of your title to yellow to match the bottom color of the logo.
Just a thought, like the Dragon by the way.
Take care

I like the dragon too! although I'm not sure how it relates to personal security products! :o)
The only area on your page using any sort of color scheme is the page banner. The mid-grey in the left column is a sort of 'non-color' and serves only as a background for the long list of navigation links.
Maybe you should read Wen's excellent thread on the Personality (http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=10819) of a website. A lot can be achieved with the careful and appropriate selection of colors. With the addition of reds and orange you're hinting at danger, but the large expanse of white (on the right) reduces its impact. Tricky to get the right balance! :o)

I must admit that I love the colors and the logo too.
But I am still unsure if the dragon symbol relates to the product you are selling. If you are open for new ideas, I have one. Why don't make a kind of Law Enforcement badge.
Something like a private detective badge.
See an example here: http://www.nic-inc.com/products/m104.htm
Thank you all for your insightful remarks. Your points are well taken!
Would anyone please look at the site now? I've been working on the colors (changed for a foggy gray to black) and italicized text fonts.
It looks "tons" better to me but I'd love to hear from those kind members who have seen it the way it was.
Thanks very much!!
