WARNING! Your account details.

I've received a number of emails that claim to be from various banks. The usually state that they require a log-on to reset account detail.

These emails could be FRAUDULANT and users should not log on to any website link given in such email.

The websites used are after your account details and wish to uses these to buy items, or transfer money, for themselves and charge these to your account.

Always phone your bank to check.

Bank names used include PayPal, Barclays, Nat-West

Here is the latest example email that claims to be from E-Gold: -


Dear e-gold user.

At 12.09.2003 the e-gold company has blocked a number of accounts in the system connected with money laundering and credit card fraud activity. The information in regards to those accounts has been passed to our corresponded banks, local and international authotities.

Due to database operations some accounts can be lost. We are insisting to our clients to check their account if they are active or if their current balance is right. Account information will be updated as soon as you log into your account.

If you will find any presence of fraudulent activites at your account - let us know immediately at e-mail anti-fraud@e-gold.com

Don't wait until criminals will steal your money - help the authorities to block their accounts.

Fraudulent emails
Several customers recently contacted us concerned that they had received fraudulent emails alleging to be from Lloyds TSB. These emails contained a link that when accessed displayed a screen asking you to enter your Internet banking User ID, Password and Memorable Information in full.
These were not genuine emails, if you are concerned that you may have divulged any details please call our helpline immediately on 0845 3000 116 (+44 20 7649 9437 from overseas). Textphone (if you have a hearing or speech impairment): 0845 3002280 (+44 141 303 6314 from overseas). If you ever receive such an email, please do not respond and forward the message immediately to Online@lloydstsb.co.uk.

absolutely brutal !!

looks like spin offs of the ebay and paypal scams of sorts. Hopefully people are wise to notice
