Just joined today, hi to all. Tell me if my hunch is correct on the following case.
One of my clients dropped off in Google from the coveted #1 (for "corporate training manuals") to invisible. What I discovered was that, based on my recommendation, she had bought an additional URL for the sole purpose of hosting info about her new book.
My plan was to make a smaller site devoted entirely to the book promotion, not a fake doorway page or redirect or whatever, but legitimate, relevant and unique content.
Sadly, on her own, to save money (my hourly fee), she had her hosting company duplicate her entire site at the new URL. The content was now exactly the same on two sites.
Do you think Google's new algorithm cried foul and dumped her? Was her site pulled along with other companies who use dozens of doorway sites to manipulate the system?
Please comment and thanks.
