Tubby... just wanted to say it scares me that I have been to your site a couple of times in the past few years, 99% sure of it, as not a lot of people have much info/parts on Hupmobiles... Was a bit of deja-vu to hit it per your signature line... small world !!

chiron, Pleased to have had you visiting mate. I just checked the Hup pages (just cos they were mentioned) Just the two old pages on site parts wanted and parts for sale, One day I will put them together. but at the moment its all playing catchup.

I did noticed the two Hup pages were not linked to each other so I fixed that (tut tut)- the original site catered more for the older cars - but the seventies and eighties traffic got pulled in to cover some costs. . But my first love is the early models.

I get a few hup owners placing parts on site - I can always find room for Hupmobiles, there are not that many about.

Hup links are Free anyway, Hups are 99.9% hobby/collector - I don't think there are many if any people making or selling parts on a commercial basis.

small world! - I am trying my best to make it smaller.

My grandfather had a Hup in his youth and we cast about the net a few times seeing if we could find a few photos, parts, classifieds, etc... ended up (sometime after visiting your site, iirc) going on a day trip to see a Kaiser museum in Nebraska or something - dozens of them, fully restored and pretty impressive. Amazing what lies hidden around the globe, small or not ;)

Take care, and if you're bored, take a peep at http://www.drivingbargains.com for a chuckle at how badly MY pages link together sometimes, heh. Ah, the "fun" sites never get the attention they deserve. Oh well. Someday!

Chiron - you have no problem getting links from restored-classics - If you list cars like this
1988 Chevrolet Corvette - $8,900.00
here - http://restocar.com/cgi-bin/usfm/form.cgi?form=8
and use a direct link to the page the car is on as below - (I like the car for sale to be at the end of the click)

http://www.drivingbargains.com/search_4.php?vid=CHV8452342342342340890

no problems -

There will be a percentage of users that will prefer the way your cars are displayed,98% of my ads have no pics - my users do not give a stuff where the car is listed as long as its the one they are looking for - and I am light on late model cars.

I have photo ads that google searches - accepts links and full html pages here - you are welcome to use - Its a bit ancient but its well used -
plenty of scope for directing traffic. . .
http://classifieds.restocar.com/cgi-bin/classifieds.cgi?action=new

Also just starting up a Forum - to help people navigate - ask questions - etc etc here
http://www.photohosters.com/wforum/
I display over a million free ads every day - so I am expecting it to get some reasonable traffic in months to come as I get links to it sorted and the Format finished - the subjects are kept well away from the classified ads so there should be room to do some subtle promotion in there. I am actually taking inspiration for the design of the Forum from webproworld.com

All in all Mate. I am having a ball on the web...

Sounds like a great offer, and future me will take you up on it - for now, the paltry few vehicles in my database are mostly "test" junk from the four or five people in Internet History who have visited the place, heh.

At some point I'll find time to get DrivingBargains back on the road to... uh... free classifieds listings. I had this silly notion a few years back people might want such a thing given the costs of the big-name classifieds engines, and an even sillier notion people would find the site randomly by themselves, and in droves. Oops.

Anyway, if I can ever get rid of my pesky customers, who snatch at my every moment of fun-code time, I'll revamp the site and we'll cross-link a little. Pushing on past 2am in my part of the spinning ball, I suppose I'd best be off. Thanks, and best of luck to you - the web's a fun place when people make it that way ;)

chiron - Great! . . . Yes we all thought that - put up a site etc etc. . I for one never realised I had to compete with the whole world . . . But once reality dawns on you, it gives you a freedom of expression that is awesome . . .

Freedom of expression is what makes the web worth living!

I made my corporate site a deliberate joke for many years, and got more clients due to the "I loved your privacy policy" crowd than I ever would have gained by trying to compete for the words I would have cared about (like "web design" - heh)

The tough part is when you exuberantly make a few dozen domains and sites and then read a bit more and realize... oh, SEO, right, IBLs, right... validation... oh my... and the next thing you know, a one-weekend hobby site consumes you for half a decade!

But I wouldn't trade it ;)

I have some very hard working ford pages -
example below .12 cents per day
http://restored-classic.com/ford-parts/1964.html

I think they all have a google rating of 2 or above.
12 cents per day for advert - 3 monthly.

See the advert on the page for size available.

This advet section is new - the best places have not been taken yet. If you have an automotive related site these link will be useful - If you have a Ford site this link will be hard to resist. If you sell specific Ford parts you certainly need this link.
