I designed a site that has a password protected area. Currently, I ask users to fill out a form then I get the results via e-mail, assign them a user name and password, send them the info and manually enter the un and pw into the hosts iprotect admin page.

I want to put in an automated solution that allows users to manage their own un's and pw's. I also want to receive the info via email. In a perfect solution I would also be able to export the form data as a csv file.

I don't know any programming (aside from html and a little js). I'd consider implementing a cgi or php solution if it is easy to set-up. Otherwise, I'd consider using an outside vendor that provides this service.

Suggestions greatly appreciated!

There are tons of scripts online that will fit your description, at least most of it, and they are free - most of them. A great source for ready-to-install scripts is http://www.hotscripts.com

There are many more, Im sure others will give you some more links.

Try http://www.hotscripts.com/Remotely_Hosted/User_Authentication/index.html OR http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/User_Authentication/index.html

At our flagship site, a link to which is included in my signature below, we went through 6 scripts, 4 of which we installed, before we settled on one that met all of our needs and then some. We paid the author (no, we are not an affiliate either) of the script to install it and I assure you, that it has been the best investment we've made, to date.

We found the author cordial, very professional and perhaps most importantly, very knowledgeable. The two times that we have contacted him (his name is Carlos) since the install (script installed December 2002), he has responded both times, within 24 hours and each time with just what we needed.

I hope you enjoy the same experience if you decide to go with him.

Sometime you may consider a real secure, automated system with no installations required with our Business Automation Panel. This system manages your members and contacts automatically.
