I do like the new MSN, but I must admit it's presented a new set of challenges to research and optimize well in.

One thing I do like however, and who knows - maybe this could be MSN throwing us SEO's a bone here - is the fact that they reindex more frequently. Even more frequently than Google it seems.

I changed a page title a few days ago, and *boom* -- it now appears in MSN serps with the new change. Google still displays the "old" title. I did the same thing with another page about a week ago and noticed the same expeditious behavior.

It does work to our favor in a way, because for the pages that don't do as well as we'd like, whatever changes we need to make we know MSN will pick up on quickly -- more quickly than Google it seems. This is surprising to me.

I've noticed the same thing. Might this be due to the relative sizes of their respective indexes?

I would expect at this stage of high scrutiny they would be running on overdrive as well. Also since they have a lot of pages to catch up on the bragging umbers game with google, I expect they are crawling the web at a frantic pace.

Since MSN seems to be indexing faster and coming back more often, that will ensure their index stays smaller than Google!

As much as I like Google, they do have a lot of really old pages listed, that have not been indexed in many months. I took down an entire site over six months ago, and it still appears in searches on Google. I wish Google would move a little faster...

So far I think the new MSN is great. My sites are doing well, but it's more than that - I'm finding a lot fewer junky, spammy results - and I LOVE that!
