I forwarded simonm's Google gag to a (like me, Canadian) friend, who replied with:

You may not know this but the French "did need us", at least to some degree, during the first Iraq war. They agreed to send French aircraft carriers. However, they neglected to put any airplanes on them. It's the thought that counts.
My initial reaction was, "And they were relying on Canada to supply aircraft? Heaven help us all..."

I dont think paper aeroplanes count somehow! But I'm sure Cretien can come up with some excuse the gullible will swallow to make them sound hitech ;-)

Tho I had heard that Alex Munter got his pilots licence in a paper aeroplane. He used to fly it around on the prowl for people hanging their clothes on washing lines ;-)

I only know of two "I'm Feeling Lucky" searches on Google that are so humorous: french military victories and of course weapons of mass destruction. Both are an amazing example of pushing up the page rank in Google. Without the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button to take you immediately to the top search result, neither would be nearly as comical. (No offense intended to the people of France.)

I wonder what other possibilities might be lurking out there. Perhaps there will be comical results one day for searches like Jimmy Hoffa or bigfoot.

The Tragedy

Prime Minister Jean Cretien is visiting an elementary
school and he drops in on one of the classes. They are
in the middle of a discussion related to words and
their meanings. The teacher asks the Prime Minister if
he would like to lead the discussion on the word
"tragedy".
So the illustrious leader asks the class for an
example of a "tragedy". One little boy stands up and
offers: "If my best friend,who lives on a farm, is
playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes
along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy.
"No," says the Prime Minister," dhat would be a
accident." A little girl raises her hand: "If a
school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff,
killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy."
"I'm afraid not," explains the exalted leader.
"Dhat's what we would call a great loss."
The room goes silent. No other children volunteer.
Prime Minister Jean Chretien searches the room.
"Isn't there someone here who can give me a example of
a tragedy?"
Finally at the back of the room a small boy raises
his hand. In a quiet voice he says: "If a jet carrying
the Prime Minister of Canada across Western Canada
were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens,
that would be a tragedy."
"Fantastic!" exclaims Chretien, "Dhat's right. And
can you tell me why that would be tragedy?"
"Well," says the boy, "because it sure wouldn't be a
great loss and it probably wouldn't be an accident
either."

I'm not kidding, I test a lot of good software, but this is good. It 'reads' every file type I've ever seen except 'Iso', you can make it auto start HTML presentations, it integrates with your anti-virus and scans both in and out, ...way more way more stuff. It is freeware, completely 'clean' of any malware, blah blah..

It is about 9 Mb, and the connection I had was maxing at 25kb per/sec. The support looks phenomenal.
It is 'beta', and I've only done a couple so far, jv16 + aida32 + WinRAR + autostart multimedia presentation builder would be an equivelant type of value - maybe.
