Great work -

I like the graphic - however the text seems a bit like the old ... huh - looking for the words.

you have talent -
I would suggest using a different color for the font as well as maybe taming it down a bit...

for now - its a step in the right direction ..

btw - I am not a design guy myself -so
not being an expert my opinion doesnt account for
all that much . . .

I like your logo. The only thing I had trouble with was the word "Graphics". It was hard for me to see. Maybe have it in the yellow color only. It could just be these tired old eyes though!

I like the cartoon by itself without the text to the left. How about just the woodpecker in the circle... and maybe the text toned down....

Parallelworlds' example puts more emphasis on the fun graphic. The text in woodpecker's sample is to overpowering, plus the dropshadow makes it hard to read.

Yep. The type treatment does not go at all with the icon. They seem like unrelated elements--the colors, the shapes, the styles--nothing in common. Parallelworlds brought it all together with his version--cute, concise, memorable, and fun.
Take it and run.
