John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Both, were assassinated by Southerners
Both, were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald!, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was ‘with’ Marilyn Monroe. :-)

Both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died in the same year, 1826, on the fiftieth anniversary of their signing the Declaration of Independence. Adams's final words, that his long-time rival and correspondent Jefferson "still lives," were mistaken, as Jefferson had died earlier that same day. James Monroe died on the same date five years later. Presidential scholars suggest that the former early presidents made an effort to hang on till July 4. James Madison rejected stimulants that might have prolonged his life, and he died six days earlier on June 28 (in 1836). It seems evident that for the deaths of several presidents July 4 is not a random date. Only one president, Calvin Coolidge, was born on July 4.
