*starts singin' "Well, the race is on and here comes pride up the backstretch........" hears the neighbors go screamin' and runnin'*
hmmm maybe singing "The Race is On" wasn't such a good idea? It was the first thing that came to mind though. :)

Time to get those reading specs checked and polish that hat brim, Julian - you didn't vote for Jello, you voted for ale (and for a change, by ale I meant ale)...
*starts singin' "Well, the race is on and here comes pride up the backstretch..."
No no no, Wen... that's "Jello up the backstretch"... notice how the two syllable word improves the rhythym of the line? ;-)

great... what'd I ever do to deserve this thread? LOL
Speaking of 'any admin', where are Garrett, Scott, & Jackie?? Haven't seen them here in quite awhile...
Well, silly, that's because I've enslaved them and forced them to do my bidding while I focus on the next step in my plan towards global domination... *insert evil theme music here*
Actually Jackie is no longer a site admin, but Garrett's still with us, despite the Photoshop Contest. :) He's just been busy working on our sister site, http://www.webpronews.com, and finding content for newsletters (http://www.webproworld.com/article.html).
Scott is still around, too, helping out with design work (check out his newsletter at http://www.designnewz.com), providing background music, and always plotting more creative ways to embarrass the rest of the WebProWorld Team.

OMG have you seen the latest B Page One pic, she's cloning herself in preparation for her global takeover. Alternatively this is just an attempt to get 2 lots of christmas presents.

"a dill"? as in "pickle"? or is it maybe short for armadillo or some other strange Aussie creature...

translation of dill = idiot, dickwad :-)
It may have come from armadillo or dill pickle...have never actually asked ;-)

I just tried to check this out with the jar of pickles in my fridge... they gave me that weary pickle look and said, in rather a snooty sort of way I thought, "dill pickles don't chase cars..."
So I guess it must be armadillos - I don't have one of those around to ask - since it's another one of those native Aussie species, would you mind sticking your head out the window and hollering to the one over there in your yard and asking him?
Thanks, Cindy - I know the pursuit of knowledge requires work, but it's worth it in the end... inquiring minds need to know...

LOL...we dont have armadillos, and I cant afford to fly over to south america-usa to find one to ask ;-)
Can I ask a wombat instead? But all they do is 'eat, root, shoot & leave's (dont be mistaken for the male species!) ;-)

Can I ask a wombat instead?
I don't know about that... "wombat" sounds a little too female to be a reliable source of information (ducking to avoid that right cross)
But all they do is 'eat, root, shoot & leave's
Hey! that's one of my favorite jokes:
A panda walks into a bar, sits down, and orders a sandwich. He eats the sandwich, pulls out a gun, and shoots the waiter dead.
As the panda stands up to go, the bartender shouts, "Hey! Where are you going? You just shot my waiter and you didn't pay for your sandwich!"
The panda yells back at the bartender, "Hey, man, I'm a panda! Look it up!"
The bartender opens his dictionary and sees the following definition for panda:
"A tree-dwelling marsupial of Asian origin characterized by distinct black and white coloring. Eats shoots and leaves."

Hmmm... I'm beginning to think it wasn't only the animal species in Australia that followed their own unique evolutionary fork...

Dont you think its odd that the dish ran away with the spoon? Dont you think that the spoon should have run away with the bowl? I think the dish was being a bit discriminatory against the knife & fork. Or...maybe it was the spoons 'coming out'! ;-)
And on that silly note.... its time to visit the land of nod. Cyas in the am! Behave ;-)

That would explain her commanding lead
I found this
Wombat generally eats roots and leaves in bush clearings. The wombat population in Tasmania is significant, and wombats tunneling under fences after grazing on farmlands sometimes annoys farmers. Burrows are usually well hidden and wild wombats are not often seen by the public

"...in bush clearings"!!!! Is there a map of Tas. around I can check? I'd like to 'see' that, so I'm making travel plans to go there. Any one know where to get a quick bite to eat while I'm Down There?(Hey, the 'A-C-D' started it. Forgot a few 's'es , no doubt of meaning...
I don't know if armo's would make good car chasers. Maybe if they are parked, I suppose.

Well thats new.... bush clearings being a turn on...hmm...and here I thought there was so much more to offer than Tazzie bush clearings ;-)
But then, I suppose that Tazzie is good place for ya. Thats where we send all the poms & cannucks who cant handle the mainland climate. Where marrying your sister is quite an acceptable practice ;-)
(j/k) ( a little in-Oz ribbing there) :-)
So wombat was a litle wayy out there for the translation hey...hmmmm :-)

I think I didn't mean the 'clearings' part as much, or maybe: Wombat 'eats, roots in bush clearings and then leaves as well'
I actually have had some good friends from Aussie, and 'Mappa..' was the first Australian word I learned. She (my friend, a she) also stunned the crowd one night with "May I nurse the cat?" Needless to say, we got along great!

You have to think those Aussies must just get so bored out there in the outback with nothing but Fosters to drink for days on end that, given a chance, they'll do anything to relieve the intense boredom.

Oh, my, I do beg forgiveness, some days the frontal cortex just doesx't seem to be firing on all lobes.
So we do the old mass double take(the whole mass of us, approx. 4 people) and watch her (blonde, caucasian, female, australian, BINGO!) pick up the cat, scritch it's head and then notices all our puzzled, expectant, and disbelieving stares and starts feeling self concious.
"wha-a-a-a-at. Quit looking at me. What'd I do, say??"
We quote her " Nurse the cat ?!?"
Her " Of course. Yes. What! O_O_O_H_H_!! (Giggles) Yes, nurse - hold, pet, show care!"
with nothing but Fosters to drink for days on end that, given a chance, they'll do anything to relieve the intense boredom.
Sounds like a continental WPW 'break from reality' room!

(She's baitin' me, I can feel it)
Mappa Tassie : map of Tasmania - a woman's non public area
wombat : Eat's roots in bush clearings and leaves.
There you have it. And yes dear ( no not you minstrel I mean mat), to answer your next question - the one you are planning to ask next - I have no idear why they only like roots in bush clearings, must be some sort of evolutionary advantage to enhance reproductive success I would imagine.
I'm wondering if there are ay ideas out there for a new topic, like why is Brittany only tied for the lead now?
Did someone sneek in after the polls were closed? I guess that even though we had a record with 0.0000225% voter turn out, I suppoce we could open up again for the 99.9999885% stragglers that haven't done it yet. (No-o! Vote! What does eats roots and leaves have to do with voted yet!?)

"roots in bush clearings"
By definition, isn't a 'clearing' void (umm, clear or empty) of vegetation such as trees and bushes??
Maybe the roots were all that could be found...?
