View Full Version : Google and Blogger

I started several Weblogs using Blogger. Only afterward did I realize that Google purchased Blogger AND that upgraded features have apparently been "frozen."
Does anyone have any idea how long Blogger will remain in this state? I am trying to decide whether to switch to another blogging tool or wait it out and see what new features may be in the offing.
If I switch I am afraid it will cause me to lose the page ranking I currently have for one of my Weblogs, in particular.
Thoughts? Guidance?
I do not know how long the "upgrade will be frozen" - but I too started a blog @blogger and wanted to upgrade, but could not. I emailed support and they upgraded me for FREE in the interim ... I have no idea when I have to start paying ... but I was happy to start paying >month ago, so I happy.
The upgrade affects nothing - your ranking and content will stay exactly the same - only change is you have better access to the page (eg FTP; insert own adwords etc)

Thanks cbp!
If I were to switch blogging tools, say to P Machine or Moveable Type, would I be able to put a re-director in my existing Blogger pages? And still keep the same existing page rankings?
The main reason I would want to switch blogging tools is that Blogger doesn't appear to allow organizing and archiving posts by subject (or if it does I haven't figured out how to do it!). Blogger only seems to organize posts chronologically, by date. Organizing by subject matter is a key feature I need.

I do not think so, but not totally sure.
