Remember when Google was a sea of relevancy, flowing cleanly without tons of ads popping up at the top and side of the page? I think I rediscovered that when I visited Teoma.com today. Sure, its got the Overture stuff on it, but it is clearly delineated in a way that the wee "sponsored link" line on Google is not.

As a purist, should I consider switching to Teoma for personal searches, or are there even more spartan lands to uncover?

I don't know what being a purist has to do with it, but suit yourself... if you think Teoma gives you more relevant results, go for it.

Teoma is a pretty good search engine in my opinion. I use it only to find tutorials and how to's.
another search engine that I'm impressed by is A9. really cool features
