My apologies if I missed the discussion but it looks like the link exchange section went belly up.

Oh, but WHY?

"Link Exchange" was the perfect description, and also a major part of this forum.

Is the phrase somehow "bad" and needs a euphemism?

(I, and probly lots of others, will get lost looking for it. I found it the other day, then lost it again. But my memory stack is always overflowing.)

So it is now "Marketing Strategies", and the first sticky says "Announcement: Rules For Link Exchange Forum" so we know we have arrived at the right place!

Hi,
Mike!

IMHO, WPW is hidding the links exchange forum in order not to attract so much attention to "links exchange". It looks like adds of steroids posted on the oplimpic games website. The main referee doesn't like recips anymore. So they are going to the back yard. And there is nothing wrong with this.

Sincerely,
Martin

Thought I was going mad as I could not find the LINKS thread, spend most days last week when I came in trying to find it. So you think we shoul not have it is that the idea???
To us lesser mortals who run a DIY operation learning all the time from many of the other members the disapearance of Links is a great shame. Was very usfull. A big thank you to all who put it together.

Happy Xmas to all.

Actually, condensing the Link Exchange had nothing at all to do with any kind of negative perception or anything like that.

I condensed it (and email marketing) into the "Marketing Strategies" thread. With marketing strategies constantly evolving and changing, I liked the idea of having 1 section where we could have all of those kinds of topics discussed. Links and email were two subsets of marketing and logically fit. I didn't condense Affiliate marketing for one, because it is a little bit different animal and secondly, because it gets significantly more posts than email or links got combined.

If at some point in the near (or distant) future the Marketing Strategies gets too crowded with posts about email, linking or something else, I will certainly consider creating a seperate forum for it.

It's all still there, just in a different spot. Nothing whatsoever was lost.
