Hello,
I am new to this forum and SEO strategies.
Recently, we had 2 of the top 10 placements for wisconsin apartments (unquoted) on Google by sheer luck.

Since then we have dropped out. We are still listed on google, try: eau claire apartments

We have a web server running IIS and use host headers to redirect users to different sites since we only have 1 IP. Are we getting punished by google for an illegal site redirect.

Any help/reviews would be appreciated and I will offer any input I can to other sites.

Thanks,

Tim

I'm not sure about the redirects... that may be a problem but perhaps someone else can jump in here and have a look at how you're doing that.

I'm also not sure from your post how long your site has been up and how recently you fell down in the listings - see the various threads on the Google readjustments - you may be another "victim" of that but there is a possibility you will come back when the dust settles.

I don't see anything else obviously wrong with the home page from a search engine standpoint, other than the redirects (possibly).

After reading further I think we got it for spam, but of course this is all best guestimates. Thanks for your reply.

We have a new domain we are going to switch to after the 1st of the year: www.apartmentswisconsin.com

instead of redoing all the old pages because they are changing for the login/registration we link to the rentinwisconsin.com login and registration pages. So i am guessing linking to rentinwisconsin via another domain with the same IP is a bad idea.

Thanks,

Tim
